Last month, my husband and I had the opportunity to finally take our very belated Honeymoon. Due to his job, going out of the country was out of the question. So, I did some research about romantic, state-side destinations! We originally landed on a stunning resort in the Florida Keys but we couldn’t justify the price tag for the all-inclusive since we knew we would want to leave the resort and explore the area every day. Luckily, a beautiful little town called Rosemary Beach came across my Instagram feed. I had never heard of it before but I immediately fell in love and we knew it was the place for us!

Rosemary Beach is located on the Florida panhandle along highway 30A, nestled between Destin and Panama City Beach. Developed in 1995 as a New Urbanism planned community, the town packs a punch in its 105 acres. With shops, restaurants, and STUNNING beaches – Rosemary was the absolute perfect place for our honeymoon. After all, it was voted one of the most romantic small towns!

The main street gave a very European vibe. The classic architecture, vibrant building colors and  rustic stone roads made me feel like I was in some sort of travel-based rom-com (picture Letters to Juliet). And don’t even get me started on the neighborhood! As soon as you step away from the main road, the serenity takes over. My favorite part of each day was grabbing our morning coffee and taking a peaceful stroll through the quiet streets and taking in all the beautiful homes.

Another aspect that really drew us to Rosemary was the city’s rental structure. Many of the properties are managed by and rented through the city. You can get a whole house to yourself, with all the benefits of an Airbnb without the ridiculous fees – and there are so many beautiful homes to choose from! Additionally, when you book directly through Rosemary you get access to 4 pools, the fitness center, tennis courts and more! Traveling with a smaller group and don’t need a whole house? No worries! Almost every house has a separate carriage house (think of it like the back house or mother-in-law suite). This is the route we chose and it could not have been more perfect for us. We still had all the amenities we needed, but in a size that made more sense for our trip.

We stayed in the Vintage Carriage House and all I have to say is location, location, location! Situated directly next to the main Barrett Square crosswalk, this house is quite literally in the heart of Rosemary Beach. The town is very walkable from any spot, but it took us just minutes to get anywhere we wanted. The house itself was absolutely beautiful. The kitchen and bath were covered in a gorgeous French marble tile and the warm wood tones against the all-white palette made it feel like the ultimate cozy beach retreat. It also smelled exactly how you’d hope a beach house would smell, so that was a plus! And, did I mention it came with bikes to cruise the town?

Writing this post is getting me in my post-vacay feels so it’s time to wrap it up. But first, here are a few places we absolutely loved while visiting and we hope you will too someday!

  • Amavida Coffee Roasters – This was our go-to for morning coffee and breakfast before our daily walks!
  • Playa Bowls – The BEST lunch to grab and take down to the beach. So many types of bowls and smoothies to choose from!
  • Cowgirl Kitchen – Amazing for a casual dinner type of night.
  • The Pearl Hotel – Go-to for a great weekend brunch.
  • Pescado – We didn’t get the chance to eat here but their drinks were to die for! Be sure to check out the rooftop!
  • The Sugar Shack – Amazing milkshakes for the late-night sweet tooth!
  • Amigos 30A & Amici 30A – A little off the course of the main area of town but still in walking distance. Amazing Italian and Mexican with killer happy hours!
