Welcome to Maison McDoll (formerly The RH Effect)! My name is Hollie and I’m so glad you’re here. This started as a small side project on Instagram to keep my mind distracted while my husband was deployed. I posted a few pictures of beautiful homes, interior design trends and affordable home decor finds here and there to pass the time. Little did I know it would take off and grow into the community it is today. For that, I am incredibly grateful.
In June of 2020, my husband and I eloped in our living room via Zoom. Exactly one year later we had our dream wedding in Cleveland, OH. Since then, we have moved across the country to Coastal Mississippi, back to Ohio for a year while he is overseas on another deployment, and moving to Denver, CO when he is back! While kids aren’t in the cards for a while, we do have the sweetest little Blue Heeler named Buddy and a black cat, Karma. (Yes she is named after the Taylor Swift song and YES, she is always purring in lap ‘cuz she loves me). Keep an eye out, they will most definitely work their way into some photos on here.
Professionally, I work in Digital Marketing full-time. My true passion, however, has always been interior design and anything surrounding the home. Growing up, there was a solid 5 years in a row that I put “Architect” as my future dream job. Today, I love spending hours in antique / thrift / home stores, traveling beautiful and historic cities and stalking all the Instagram pages I can find for inspiration.
